Lelah Brant Eckhart passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 1969, at the Elgin Nursing Home after being confined since early November, 1965. She was the daughter of Horace and Mary Alice Sorrels Brant, well known Attica residents. She was born Dec. 17, 1888 in Attica, was married to Marvin Eckhart July 5, 1909. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1937. She is survived by one son Lester of McHenry, Ill., and two daughters, Mildred Barry of Hampshire, Ill. and Dorris Bohnstadt of Hayward, Calif., also five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Zura Brant Evans of LaPorte and Bertha Preble of Fort Meade, Fla., and one brother, Arthur Brant of Attica. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Attica. --waw
